There’s never any peace and quiet at Barcelona, and it looks like Jules Kounde is the latest star of the show.
The Catalan side pulled several levers to be able to sign the defender from Sevilla. Chelsea had been strongly linked for a while before then, but the Blues didn’t seem to be prepared to get into a serious battle.
As far as the media closest to Barcelona had it, Kounde wanted to join the Blaugrana anyway, and his arrival was much heralded, despite the financial difficulties.
Sport report that all isn’t well, and the Frenchman is ‘willing to leave’ Barcelona this summer. That’s because, according to the report, Xavi Hernandez made promises that were not fulfilled.
They state Kounde moved away from Chelsea interest, and that of other clubs, because he was assured he’d be an important central defender at the Camp Nou.
That hasn’t been the case and now he’s frustrated.
Sport say Chelsea ‘will go for’ the signing, and it’s claimed they’re willing to pay more than Barcelona sent to Sevilla.
