Chelsea loanee Renato Veiga has started the past four Serie A games for Juventus.
After a brief period out due to an injury, the versatile defender is starting to make an impact. He’s impressed under new manager Igor Tudor, playing a role in the Bianconeri being unbeaten in their last three league games.
TuttoSport today look at the Portuguese’s situation and they believe that Veiga is winning over many at Juve, who want to extend his loan deal until the end of the Club World Cup in the summer.
That will not be easy as Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca is ‘crazy’ about the 21-year-old, who had only joined Juventus because the Blues had too many options in the backline.
It was the Italian himself who asked his club to make sure that Juve do not have an option to buy Veiga permanently. This is why the Old Lady will have to pay a fee of close to €50m to sign the defender in the summer.
To avoid this massive demand from Chelsea, the Bianconeri only want to extend his loan deal. This will give them more time to execute sales and if things go well in that department, they can then make an offer to sign Veiga permanently.
Towards the end of the summer transfer window, Juve can be boosted by money from potential Champions League qualification as well.
