Chelsea are ‘trying particularly hard’ to sign Stefanos Tzimas from FC Nuremberg in the summer transfer window.

That’s according to BILD, who report that Chelsea have a 45% chance of getting the highly rated 19-year-old in this window.

The newspaper reports that Nuremberg are planning ‘a super deal’ for the youngster in the summer. He is currently on loan from PAOK Thessaloniki, but they want to exercise an €18m clause to sign him permanently.

That’s seen as a ‘smart solution’ for them as they can easily sell him at a profit. Rumours have been growing around the player for some time.

Sides in the Premier League are keeping a particularly close eye on him and Chelsea are one of them. In fact, there are 18 clubs across Europe being linked with the Greek.

BILD provide an overview of those but say Chelsea are ‘trying particularly hard’ to get Tzimas. Nuremberg’s asking price of €25m would not be a problem for them. According to the newspaper, they have a 45% chance of getting the striker.

Any effort for him would presumably be determined by their efforts to reduce the numbers in their current squad. Several players are already on the chopping block this month and it is likely to be the same in the summer.

At this moment, though, they are the favourites for Tzimas and BILD believe they’re the most likely candidates to get him at this point.
