Fenerbahce are very close to confirming the signing of Chelsea midfielder Marco Van Ginkel, report Takvim.

The Netherlands international has been linked with a move to the Turkish giants in the past week.

According to Takvim, Fenerbahce sporting director David Comolli is working on a deal to bring the Chelsea player to Istanbul, and it’s claimed the transfer should be announced this week.

There have been reports in the Turkish media in the past few days that talks are at an advanced stage with Chelsea, and a deal is close to being completed. The Turkish club are looking to loan the Dutchman for a season.

Recently installed Fenerbahce manager Philip Cocu is keen for a reunion with his former player after two seasons together with Dutch side PSV.

The Chelsea outcast scored 14 goals for PSV last season and was key in the club winning the Dutch title.

Van Ginkel is contracted to Chelsea until June 2020.
