Earlier this morning, we covered an article in L’Equipe claiming that Loïc Rémy was having to choose between Everton or Crystal Palace, with the player preferring to stay in London.
The idea of a loan with a view to buy was suggested as the likeliest outcome, and Le10 Sport, in an exclusive on their website, claim the deal with Crystal Palace is now pretty much sorted.
In fact, the French website claim it’s 95% done, meaning that barring an incredible last minute change in the deal, the player will be joining Alan Pardew at Selhurst Park next season.
They say the player will be loaned to the Premier League side, but there’s no mention of a buyout clause for the French striker.
Considering L’Equipe heavily hinted this could get done, this isn’t the most outlandish claim to make, but they’ve stuck their neck out here a little bit, so we’ll have to wait and see how this pans out in the next few days.
If Rémy does sign, though, a deal for Christian Benteke seems unlikely.
