Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United have all thought about Napoli manager Luciano Spalletti for next season, according to Calciomercato.it.
The 64-year-old has guided the Serie A side to the top of the table and they are in the driving seat to win the title this season.
Spalletti’s work at the Naples club has seen him attract ‘concrete interest’ from the Premier League, where it’s stated Chelsea, Tottenham and Newcastle are looking at him.
The ex-Inter Milan manager’s deal expires in June and Napoli have an option to extend it further until 2024, which hasn’t been activated yet.
Graham Potter and Antonio Conte have had mixed times at Chelsea and Spurs. Eddie Howe, on the other hand, has done an impressive job with the Magpies.
It’s thought the two London clubs, and Newcastle, could change managers and therefore, it’s not farfetched to think they are ‘caressing the idea’ to appoint Spalletti.
Napoli chief Aurelio De Laurentiis is aware of the possibility of losing the coach after this season. He has to either activate the clause or hold talks with Spalletti to understand the offers there are for him. There is a possibility the two parties could split in the summer.
On Twitter, Calciomercato.it add Chelsea, Tottenham and Newcastle ‘think about’ Spalletti.
The English sides could look at Spalletti if they decide to get rid of their current managers.
