On Monday, we covered claims from Argentina which stated Chelsea have agreed a deal with Boca Juniors to sign Aaron Anselmino for an ‘exorbitant amount’ of $18m [£14.2m].
It was also reported the Blues were sorting out the payment method and evaluating Boca Juniors’ request to have the 19-year-old back on a loan deal for a year.
Olé now claim Chelsea have accepted the Argentine club’s terms to sign the defender in the summer window. The two clubs have agreed a deal for $18m, and Boca Juniors found it ‘impossible to reject’ it.
Enzo Maresca’s side made an offer 10 days ago to take the player to Europe this summer, while his club wanted to retain him at least until next summer. This had blocked his sale to the west London club.
Olé have found out from sources close to the deal that Chelsea have now reached a ‘total agreement’, after they ‘gave in’ and accepted the terms proposed by the South American club.
In other words, the Blues have agreed to let Anselmino stay at Boca Juniors until June 2025, provided he’ll be given regular minutes when available for selection. Chelsea will have an option to cut short his stay him in December.
