Napoli star Gonzalo Higuain could be leaving this summer, with just a couple of years left on his contract at the Serie A club.

A host of top European clubs have been linked to the Argentine, including Paris-Saint Germain, Bayern Munich, Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool.

According to Spanish newspaper AS, Atletico Madrid are also keen on the Argentine star, and have already attempted to negotiate with Napoli, but were obviously left disappointed.

They could now turn their attention towards Diego Costa, but Chelsea will only consider selling the Spaniard if they can sign at least two strikers this summer.

AS say Antonio Conte is a big fan of Higuain, and Chelsea could try signing him, but they must pay his release clause of €94m, as confirmed by Napoli’s president Aurelio De Laurentiis.

Speaking to ll Matino, De Laurentis confirmed several clubs are obviously interested in Higuain, after he scored 36 goals in 35 appearances this season.

“Of course, there are several big clubs interested in him, but it would be necessary to see if they can put on the table his release clause of €94m.”

De Laurentiis has made it clear several times that he wouldn’t consider the sale of Higuain for anything less than his release clause, but it remains to be seen if he can keep the Argentine at Napoli beyond summer.
