Chelsea have ‘found a new target’ in Sturm Graz striker Emanuel Emegha, who has ‘caught the eye’ of their scouts with his performances this season.
That’s according to Foot Mercato, who say the Blues are targeting the ‘very tall and very quick’ striker who has a ‘golden future’ ahead of him.
They explain that signing attackers will be at the top of Chelsea’s agenda this summer as they continue to bolster their squad despite their extravagant spending in the last two transfer windows.
Their scouts are not leaving a stone unturned and that means they are also looking at the ‘less prestigious championships’ as well, including the Austrian top flight.
They already signed David Datro Fofana from Molde and Emegha could end up joining him as he has ‘had a blast’ in Austria this season.
He’s bagged eight goals and three assists in the Bundesliga so far despite only appearing in 56% of the minutes and that has not gone unnoticed, with Chelsea one of his ‘most prestigious followers’ as a result.
Despite not having a permanent manager in place they want to continue ‘preparing for the future’ and Emegha is one of the players they are looking at as he appears to have a ‘golden future’ ahead of him.
What needs to be pointed out is that this appears to be an exclusive from Foot Mercato, although they do not label it as such.
There is also no mention of Chelsea being interested in Emegha from any outlets in Austria or Germany.
Thus, it’ll have to be taken with a pinch of salt for the time being, but his name may be one to keep an eye on moving forwards, particularly if Todd Boehly and Chelsea continue to sign up every young player they can get their hands on.
