In their look around world football for their Monday back-page, Spanish newspaper Marca find a section to discuss Chelsea’s interest in 19 year old Thiago Maia.
The young Santos midfielder is currently with Brazil’s Olympic squad, and whilst he may not be the flashiest of his country’s young talents (which may well be a good thing), Thiago is certainly very highly rated.
Marca’s interest will surely partly be motivated by the player being linked to Spanish clubs too, and young Brazilian talents always have that extra aura of greatness, although they don’t always back it up.
The Spanish newspaper say that Thiago’s signing would be ‘another boost’ for Chelsea, with new manager Antonio Conte determined to have a great first season at Stamford Bridge.
The last claims we covered from Brazil on the situation stated that Thiago was receiving advice about his future. Agent Giuliano Bertolucci is expected to present offers from Chelsea and PSG soon.
Once the Olympics is over, it’ll be decision time for the midfielder.
