For as long as we can remember, Marseille’s 17-year-old defender Boubacar Kamara has been linked with Manchester City.

The youngster’s entourage was reported by L’Equipe as having held FaceTime talks with the Premier League club, and have always been mentioned alongside the young France U18 international.

However, if France Football are to be believed this week, Chelsea have joined the race to nick the Marseille starlet.

The French side are reported to be doing their best to keep hold of their young prodigy, but, as has been the case since last year, Kamara is taking his time putting pen to paper.

Antonio Conte’s side are said to be ‘strongly interested’, alongside Borussia Dortmund, in the defender’s potential, and, with the Premier League title within their reach, could be a more attractive destination than the Etihad.

It remains to be seen whether or not Kamara renews with Marseille, as the club have until the 30th of April to tie him down, but if he doesn’t, it seems we should now expect Chelsea to be one of the frontrunners in this race.
