Chelsea have been in ‘strong talks’ with technical director Christopher Vivell for ‘weeks’ regarding a position at Stamford Bridge.
That’s according to journalist Gianluigi Longari, who suggest Vivell will be on his way to Stamford Bridge following his departure from RB Leipzig.
Last week we covered a report from Sport Italia that stated Chelsea had been negotiating a potential move for Vivell via an intermediate, having given up on RB Salzburg’s Christopher Freund.
Earlier today Leipzig removed Vivell from his position as technical director, stating that a difference in opinions had led to him leaving his position early.
That has seemingly opened the door for a move to Chelsea and Longari reports they have been holding ‘strong talks’ with him for ‘weeks’.
That would suggest the groundwork is already mostly done for him to join the Blues and perhaps those negotiations behind the scenes have caused his removal from Leipzig.
That’s speculation from us but what is clear is that Vivell is now a free agent and Chelsea have been talking to him for a while about a role.
