The Brazilian media continues to make it clear that the talks between Chelsea and Corinthians for the transfer of Gabriel Moscardo continue.
Gazeta Esportiva today features a story explaining that the end of the transfer window did not have any impact on the Blues’ pursuit of the player.
It’s claimed that as Moscardo turns 18 later this month, there was never a hurry. It turns out the talks are actually for a summer move next year.
Chelsea already tried with an offer worth €21m plus €4m in bonuses, and Corinthians set a price of €30m for the sale.
Despite the rejection, it’s said the Blues are ‘still talking’ to the player’s entourage, as they want to ‘get ahead of rivals’ in the race for his signing.
Gazeta Esportiva claims Chelsea believe to have an advantage due to their good relationship with agent Giuliano Bertolucci, who recently negotiated the transfers of Angelo and Deivid Washington to Stamford Bridge.
The representative, however, ‘doesn’t rule out’ speaking to other clubs, so the Blues still need to work hard to guarantee this signing, even if it is one for the future, with the player unlikely to complete the move until June 2024 at the earliest.
