Kalidou Koulibaly is ‘not thinking of a premature farewell’ to Chelsea despite reports of a potential move to Inter Milan.

That’s according to journalist Giorgio Musso, who says the defender won’t be leaving Stamford Bridge any time soon.

Koulibaly arrived at Chelsea in a €38m deal from Napoli in the summer transfer window as part of the Blues rebuild of their defence.

He arrived at Stamford Bridge with a big reputation following his eight years at Napoli, where he had established himself as one of the best defenders in Europe over his eight year spell.

He is yet to show that at Chelsea, though, enduring something of a difficult start to life in London under Thomas Tuchel.

The situation did not improve drastically under his replacement Graham Potter, which had led to some reports that Chelsea may cut their losses and look to move him on.

A move to Inter had been mooted but Musso insists that is not on the cards, reporting that the defender’s cost is ‘out of reach’ for the Nerazzurri.

Added into that is the fact that the former Napoli man is ‘not thinking of a premature farewell’ to Chelsea at this moment in time. In other words, that’s a deal that won’t be happening for a couple of reasons.

Koulibaly is seemingly happy where he is for now, while Inter can’t afford him anyway, which should put an end to any further suggestions or rumours for the time being.
