Chelsea are one of the sides to have ‘shown interest’ in Chivas forward Alexis Vega, who has told his club that he wants to depart in January.
That’s according to El Universal, who say the Mexican forward ‘no longer wants’ to continue his career in his homeland and wants to move to Europe.
The newspaper reports that while Vega is continuing to rest after travelling to the World Cup with Mexico, he has made it clear to Chivas’ management that his intention is ‘to be signed’ by a club in Europe.
So far, no formal offer has arrived for the player at the Rebaño Sagrado, but Vega is ‘convinced’ that it will happen as he hopes for a move to the Old Continent.
Chelsea are one of the sides to have ‘shown interest’ in the forward, with the Blues named alongside Wolves and PSV Eindhoven as his suitors.
Interestingly the latter two were also named in a previous report last month but Chelsea were not, so their interest appears to be somewhat newer.
Graham Potter’s side are expected to be busy in January as they reshape the squad for the English coach and with the likes of Christian Pulisic and Hakim Ziyech linked with moves away, there could be space for a forward like Vega.
