For the past month, we’ve seen Chelsea being linked to Palmeiras starlet Gabriel Menino.

Reports from Brazil and Spain both claimed the Blues have been interested in the 20-year-old, who had an important role in his side’s titles last season.

Now, it’s Italian outlet Calcio Mercato who features a piece on the start of the Copa Libertadores’ group stage. They highlight a few players who should get the attention of European sides.

Unsurprisingly, Chelsea are once again named as one of the contenders to sign Gabriel Menino. This time, they’re mentioned alongside the competition from Atletico Madrid, Juventus and Tottenham Hotspur.

The Blues and the other clubs are said to have ‘set their sights’ on the 20-year-old, even though there are still no details about talks with Palmeiras for the transfer.

When detailing Menino’s situation last month, Mundo Deportivo said he could be signed for around €20m, even though his contract includes a release clause of €60m.

Now with a new Copa Libertadores campaign ahead and more clubs joining the competition, it would be fair to see his price going up in the coming months.
