As the race to sign the Lille football director Luís Campos goes on, it seems Roma would have an advantage over Chelsea to get him.
As reported by Goal, Campos already has a ‘verbal agreement’ to sign for the Italian side, and even sent them a list of signings he would like for next season.
This list would have the names of David Neres, from Ajax, and Thiago Mendes, who currently works with Campos at Lille.
Goal recalls that Campos is a target for Chelsea as well, but could actually be announced by Roma in May. At the Italian side, he would replace Monchi, who left for Sevilla.
Roma would be planning to make some heavy investments in the next season to compete with Juventus. Goal recalls that even José Mourinho is being linked to the club.
When the Portuguese press reported Chelsea’s interest in Campos earlier this month, they also warned that Roma were in advanced talks to sign him.
