Certainly tired of the Romelu Lukaku saga, Chelsea have reportedly set a deadline for the striker’s departure.
That was today said in CalcioMercato.it’s TV Play. There, they spoke to journalist Gianluca Oddenino about the latest on the player’s future.
According to him, Juventus are set to be the only option for Lukaku this summer, even though the Bianconeri still need to find a deal with Chelsea.
“I don’t think Lukaku can go to another team, but if this one is not unlocked situation the Saudi trail can be reopened. He wants Juventus and Juventus wants him, in the end I think the balance will be found. In my opinion Lukaku will go through, otherwise it could stay like this.”
Then he claimed that Chelsea have a deadline for the deal, and with Juventus trying all ways to find an agreement, they are thinking of trying to get a loan deal sorted out for the Belgian.
“Lukaku has an agreement with Juventus, but Chelsea are asking for 40 million. Juventus, not having the resources deriving from the sale of Vlahovic, is trying to introduce a loan with an obligation to buy linked to the Scudetto or the conquest of the Champions League. There is time until August 4 to find the square.”
With Lukaku completely ruled out by Inter Milan, the reason why the Italian media thinks Juventus are the only way out for him is that the player apparently doesn’t want a move to Saudi Arabia.
It was the striker himself who authorised the talks with the Old Lady, so that’s a pretty strong sign that he’s eager to join them this summer.
Chelsea are clearly looking for the best possible deal, and it remains to be seen how desperate they are to get Lukaku off their hands, with Juventus clearly testing their patience.
