Chelsea are interested in a loan deal for Real Madrid Sergio Reguilón as Frank Lampard looks for a new left-back this summer.

The Blues are undergoing an overhaul under Lampard this summer, with Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner already signed up.

Improving his defence will be key, though, that area of the team having caused problems for much of the campaign.

Chief among the issues has been left-back, with neither Emerson Palmieri nor Marcos Alonso having convinced.

Leicester’s Ben Chilwell has been named as Chelsea’s top target for most of the last year, but the Foxes are not keen on selling, and the Blues are looking elsewhere.

And according to Marca, one of the alternatives is Reguilón, who looks likely to leave Real Madrid after returning from Sevilla this summer.

The Spaniard has impressed with the La Liga side, but with Ferland Mendy and Marcelo already at the Bernabeu, there is little chance for the 23-year-old.

Thus, he has been linked with an exit, and Marca say Chelsea are one of those to have made an enquiry.

According to the newspaper, they ‘would be interested’ in signing the left-back, who also has offers from the Bundesliga and Serie A.

They state the offer from Stamford Bridge ‘opens up a new way’ for the player, who would be able to ‘form a tandem’ with Marcos Alonso.

His agent Kia Joorabchian is handling the whole thing, and Sevilla remain an option after his loan spell this season, but Chelsea are now there and the suggestion from Marca is that he would be open to the switch.
