Chelsea are set to send a scout for the match between Sporting and Porto on Monday evening, according to reports from Portugal.
Newspaper O Jogo claims the Blues have two good reasons to have an emissary in Lisbon watching that specific game.
It’s said Chelsea are interested in Sporting players Ousmane Diomande and Viktor Gyokeres, and will see how they do in one of the most important matches of the season.
O Jogo claims that this scout already watched Sporting’s B team at the weekend, and is now preparing for his main mission on Monday.
Speaking of Gyokeres, the newspaper claims that Chelsea see the centre-forward as an ‘alternative’ to Victor Osimhen, putting him on top of the list for January.
In Diomande’s case, O Jogo highlights that Arsenal had also been interested in the defender, and Chelsea had interest rising in the ‘past few months’.
The bad news for the Blues is that Sporting would only let the duo go in the middle of the season in case their release clauses are triggered. That means a €100m price tag for Gyokeres and €80m for Diomande.
