On Tuesday, FcInterNews reported Manchester City are the only club to have expressed interest in Romelu Lukaku, but Inter Milan have no intention of selling the star.

Calciomercato has a report on the 27-year-old and part of their title reads: ‘Chelsea prepares the assault’ for the striker.

He has been in stellar form for the Serie A side, netting 26 goals and registering seven assists in all competitions this season.

Not only Inter and their fans are realising the Belgium international’s ‘greatness’, but even other clubs are taking note of his impressive displays for the Nerazzurri.

Barcelona have been named as a suitor for the former Manchester United man, but they lack the ‘economic strength’ to carry out an operation to sign Antonio Conte’s man.

‘Liquidity’ is something that’s not lacking at the London club and they have the financial muscle to undertake Lukaku’s signing.

The Blues want to give Thomas Tuchel a new striker and Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland is a priority target for them. Lukaku is behind Haaland in Roman Abramovich’s ‘shortlist’.

Calciomercato follow it up by stating there’s various suggestions Chelsea are ‘ready to take concrete action’ for Lukaku as they have an idea of submitting an offer in excess of €100m.

The website further adds there are no hints of Lukaku’s farewell and any type of assault from any club will be ‘rejected with force’.

Again, this all feels like a forced effort to remind everyone how well the striker has done this season.
