Chelsea ‘raid’ Atletico Madrid for Samu Omorodion, with the Blues bursting into the picture to sign the attacker, reports Gianluca Di Marzio.
The 20-year-old Spain U21 international has only been with Atletico Madrid since moving in 2023 from Granada. Curiously, he’s never actually played a competitive match for Los Rojiblancos.
Omorodion spent the last season on loan at Deportivo Alaves, and it’s his performances there which have caught the eye of multiple clubs.
The youngster managed nine goals and one assist in 35 matches, playing mainly as a striker.
He has a contract with Diego Simeone’s side lasting until June 2028, and there’s no indication in the report of what the asking price will be.
According to Di Marzio, Omorodion is currently the ‘first choice’ recruit Chelsea have for their attack as they look to add even more youngsters to their squad ahead of the new season.
AS Roma and Napoli are also credited with interest, but it’s said Chelsea will try to reach an agreement so they can beat the competition in an early move.
Gianluca Di Marzio has since taken to Twitter to say Chelsea have offered €40m, but that’s been rejected.
