A week ago, Mundo Deportivo reported Chelsea have no plans to give up their pursuit of Samu Omorodion, after Atlético Madrid turned down their offer of €33m plus €7m bonuses.
It was also said Enzo Maresca really likes the striker, who was on loan at Deportivo Alavés last season.
Journalist Gianluca Di Marzio provides the latest on Chelsea’s efforts to sign the 20-year-old this summer.
He claims the Blues are back, and are ‘pushing hard’ to bring the Spain U23 international to Stamford Bridge.
Omorodion has always been the main target for the Premier League side and they have stepped forward to try and sign him. The journalist says the operation is going ahead for a deal around €50m, without making it clear whether this includes or excludes bonuses.
Los Rojiblancos are keen on signing Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher. He has less than a year left on his deal, making the situation more tense.
Di Marizo adds Chelsea are in ‘continuous contacts’ with Diego Simeone’s side. There’s a direct line between the two clubs, but they are treating the deals of Omorodion and the 24-year-old Englishman as two separate operations.
