Chelsea could find themselves as the protagonists of a four-way transfer musical chairs this summer, with Kepa Arrizabalaga on the way out and Filip Jorgensen in to replace him.
That’s according to Marca, who detail how the dominoes may fall and end up working in Chelsea’s favour in their goalkeeping department.
The newspaper explains that Chelsea may find themselves involved in a four-way deal involving goalkeepers this summer involving Andriy Lunin, Álvaro Valles, Kepa and Jorgensen.
It starts with Lunin, who wants to leave Real Madrid to secure first-team football elsewhere, knowing he’ll be limited with Madrid thanks to Thibaut Courtois’ return.
He has asked to move on and if that happens, it would open up the door for Kepa to return from Chelsea after his loan spell last season. He wants the return to Madrid and wouldn’t mind being a substitute.
That would in turn leave Chelsea with a hole to fill and they would so by signing Jorgensen, who can be signed from Villarreal for €20m, despite having a €40m release clause in his contract.
Villarreal would then replace him with the signing of Valles from Las Palmas, who would then enter the market to find their own new goalkeeper.
All that is required is the first domino, Lunin, to fall somewhere, opening up the path for the others to make their move and begin the transfer dance between Madrid, London, Villarreal and Gran Canaria.
