Chelsea have managed to win only two of their 16 matches in all competitions, scoring six goals in the process.
The addition of four attackers; João Félix [on loan], Mykhaylo Mudryk, David Datro Fofana and Noni Madueke, in the winter market has not helped the Blues to find the back of the net regularly.
In order to improve the situation next season, Chelsea have identified Napoli star Victor Osimhen as the target.
That’s according to Calciomercato, who state the English club are ‘preparing a huge offer’ to sign the Nigeria international in the summer.
He has 21 goals and five assists from 25 matches this season and his fine form has helped Napoli sit on top of the league table.
Osimhen’s immediate focus is to help the Serie A side win the title and he will evaluate the offers he’ll receive, after this season. It’s explained Chelsea have returned for him in recent days.
The striker earns €4.5m net per year at the Naples club. Chelsea owner Todd Boehly is ‘ready to double’ his salary in order to bring him to Stamford Bridge.
Although the report states Graham Potter’s side are preparing a huge offer, there’s no mention of any figures in the report.
Calciomercato claim Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis needs at least €120-130m to evaluate Osimhen’s sale.
