Chelsea are reportedly one of the clubs who are interested in Palmeiras midfielder Gabriel Menino.

The information comes from Brazilian outlet UOL, who features a piece on the 20-year-old’s future today.

The story is actually more focused on the chase from Atlético Madrid, who have been following the player and even made an approach to his entourage recently.

The Colchoneros, however, must ‘balance their accounts’ due to the Financial Fair Play, and would need to sell one of their players before making any moves.

Chelsea are pointed out as ‘competition’ for the La Liga side, although there are no further details on the interest from the Blues or how much they’d like to spend on the signing.

According to UOL, Atlético Madrid consider Gabriel Menino to be worth somewhere between €15m and €20m, all the while taking into account the financial crisis caused by the Coronavirus pandemic.

Despite the young age, the midfielder has become an important player for Palmeiras lately, and was even called up by the Brazilian national team as a right-back, as a proof of his versatility.
