Trevoh Chalobah’s recent injury could have cost him a potential move to Bayern Munich, with the German champions considering the Chelsea man.
That’s according to Sky Sports Germany, who say the 24-year-old was a candidate for the German champions as Thomas Tuchel is a ‘big fan’ of his.
Sky report that Bayer have ‘internally discussed’ the Chelsea man as a potential replacement for Benjamin Pavard, who has been heavily linked with a move away and is being targeted by Inter Milan.
He’s yet to receive permission to depart, but if he does Bayern will need a replacement and Chalobah is a candidate to do so as far at they are concerned.
He fills the profile of what those in charge are looking for and has the recommendation of Thomas Tuchel, who is a ‘big fan of the player’ as he has ‘already worked with him’ during his time in charge at Stamford Bridge.
A deal is considered difficult to get off the line because Chalobah has a long-term contract until 2028 at Chelsea so they don’t need to sell on the cheap. That deal also includes an option for another year.
There is also his recent thigh injury, which is likely to leave him out for a few weeks and has already seen him miss the start of the season under Mauricio Pochettino.
