Several reports from the Portuguese media today say that Vitória Guimarães are signing Nicolas Tie from Chelsea.

Outlet Record was the first to bring the news, sounding quite sure that the goalkeeper is moving this summer. They say he should sign a ‘long term contract’ in the ‘coming days’.

It’s pointed out that Tie should replace Vitória Guimarães’ reserve goalkeeper Miguel Silva, who’s on his way to APOEL at the end of the season.

Now although Record sounds confident about what they are saying, outlet O Jogo comes up with a different take on the agreement.

They write that Nicolas Tie wants to leave Chelsea because he’s been having few minutes with the U23 squad, and looks for a place where he can play more.

But it’s claimed that Vitória Guimarães is trying to sign the player on a loan deal or on a permanent move leaving a percentage of a future sale with the Blues.

O Jogo says the negotiations are ‘well forwarded’, and a deal should be found soon. It’s worth reminding that Tie’s contract with Chelsea expires next week.

Last summer, Vitória Guimarães signed Marcus Edwards from Tottenham Hotspur on a free move, and the London side kept 50% of a future transfer. So perhaps that’s the kind of agreement they’re looking for., although the contract situation would surely make that difficult.
