Chelsea attacker Willan has emerged as a transfer target for La Liga winners Barcelona in the summer transfer window.
The Brazil international has two years left on his current deal at Stamford Bridge. He will turn 30 in August and Catalan newspaper Mundo Deportivo claims the player is aware that it will be his last chance to join a club like Barcelona or Real Madrid.
Willian scored against Barcelona when they knocked out the Blues in the Champions League round of 16. The report claims it’s the player’s dream to join either of the two Spanish giants.
He has been presented with an opportunity to join the Blaugrana in the ongoing transfer window. The Chelsea forward is managed by Kia Joorabchian, who played a key role in helping Ernesto Valverde’s side signing Willian’s compatriot Philippe Coutinho from Liverpool in January.
Barcelona shares a good relationship with Joorabchian and he has put it forward to them that his client could leave the FA Cup winners. The player also doesn’t want to give up his ‘old dream’ of playing for the Camp Nou outfit.
Willian and Barcelona are both open to the idea of the transfer this summer. Reports in England suggested that Chelsea have already rejected a €56m bid from the Spanish giants for the 29-year-old.
Mundo Deportivo’s report claims Chelsea have set the bar at €80m to allow Willian leave the club. Barcelona have deemed that price tag ‘too expensive’ for a player who will turn 30 next month.
