As everyone knows, Chelsea’s relationship with Romelu Lukaku already wasn’t the best before his return to Inter Milan on loan last season, and now it’s even worse.
That’s according to Corriere dello Sport, who have a big article on the Belgium international’s future and where he could end up come the end of the summer.
Heading back to Chelsea after his season in Italy, the striker has no intention of staying at Stamford Bridge, and knows his only option of going back to Inter is through another loan.
Lukaku is also unhappy with the Blues, as he ‘didn’t like their attitude’ as they tried to ‘push him into the arms of Al-Hilal’.
That’s why the player has decide to ‘take matters into his own hands’, and his intention is to return to London with one clear message for the Chelsea hierarchy: ‘Inter and that’s it’.
He’s planning his ‘blitz in the City’ after the game against Estonia for Belgium, ‘probably with the support of his lawyer Sebastien Ledure’, who was instrumental in getting the original loan with Inter sorted.
Chelsea, down their end, were hoping for a better season from Lukaku, with their aim being for him to relaunch himself to then sell him on this summer, and they know that another temporary deal ‘would mean postponing the problem again’.
That being said, if they don’t agree to it, they ‘risk finding themselves in charge of a disgruntled player’ on wages of €12m/year net.
All in all, they may not have much of a choice but to agree with his demands.
