The Spanish media call injuries picked up on international the FIFA Virus, as clubs around the world worry about their players returning in less than top shape.

Chelsea are now in that situation with N’Golo Kante, after it was announced the midfielder has been allowed to return to Chelsea and won’t be taking part in the rest of France’s international break.

L’Equipe report Kante underwent ‘clinical and radiological examinations’ prior to leaving the French squad. This was after he felt hamstring pain late during France’s draw with Ukraine.

Those tests clearly revealed that Kante, who has a ‘small lesion’, wouldn’t be fit for the match against Kazakhstan so has returned to London rather than travelling with his national teammates today.

There’s no indication of when the 30-year-old will be able to return to action for Thomas Tuchel’s side. Chelsea face West Brom on Saturday April 3rd and whilst they should be able to navigate that without Kante, it’ll be the first Champions League game against Porto, on April 7th, that will cause concern.
