It seems it won’t take long until we get to know the destination of Chelsea midfielder Andrey Santos, as the Blues are ready to loan him out.
A report from Globo Esporte says the player flew to Brazil on Sunday after having it confirmed that he wouldn’t be granted a work permit for the Premier League.
It’s said Chelsea tried to register Andrey as a special talent, but with the FA being ‘more strict’ with big clubs about that rule, that wasn’t possible.
Palmeiras are said to be the favourites to land him, especially because he could play the Copa Libertadores there, but that move is not fully agreed yet.
Those talks are detailed by UOL, who says the clubs have been ‘advancing’ for a deal since Friday, with the Verdão having the midfielder on loan until the end of the year.
The big problem is that Chelsea want the player to be in the U20 World Cup in May and June, while Palmeiras want to have control over that situation and chose whether he’s going.
So even though Palmeiras have already won the competition against other Brazilian clubs to land him on a loan, they must still sort those details before confirming his arrival.
