Following all the recent rumours regarding the future of Chelsea’s Andrey Santos, we get to see interesting updates coming from the Brazilian media today.
On UOL, journalist Paulo Vinícius Coelho makes it clear he has a good relationship with the player’s staff, and explains the current scenario regarding his work visa.
It’s said that even though Andrey Santos wasn’t given a work permit yet, his entourage still believes that will be possible in the coming days, especially because of the goal he scored in the U-20 South American Championship final at the weekend.
Now regardless of having the permit or not, Chelsea are fine with letting him leave on loan until the summer. However, there’s a big problem about that, which is the U-20 World Cup, which starts in May.
Coelho points out it doesn’t make any sense for Brazilian clubs to sign Andrey Santos on loan now and have him for only a couple of months, given their season runs to different dates. So they should try to negotiate with Chelsea for a spell until December, which, at this point, is unlikely for the Premier League side to accept.
It’s also claimed that the choice for a loan will be down to Andrey himself. Even with a work permit, the player could decide whether to be in Chelsea’s squad for the final part of the season or negotiate with a Brazilian club.
