Charly Musonda spent the second half of last season at Real Betis, where he impressed and therefore it made sense to extend his loan spell at the La Liga club.

The Belgian winger, however, has started just a couple of games this season under Gus Poyet, and to make things worse the 20-year-old suffered a knee injury.

Earlier, we reported Musonda was back at Chelsea to recover from his injury. Musonda has returned to Spain now and back in training at the Betis, reports Spanish daily AS.

AS say Musonda ‘suddenly’ recovered from his knee injury, after he spent three weeks at Chelsea. Real Betis play Las Palmas on Friday, but Musonda isn’t expected to start the game, although earlier reports suggested differently.

On his return to training, Musonda has been speaking to the Spanish media: “The sporting director advised me to be here the first day of the new coaching staff. In London, I ran a lot without the ball and here I have done so with the ball. My first training with the group was on Tuesday after three weeks, and I’m very happy.”

Last week, Real Betis sacked Gus Poyet, and have replaced him with Spanish manager Victor Sanchez. Musonda would be hoping of playing a more prominent role under Sanchez, and it seems he is doing his bit to impress the new boss.
