With Inter Milan looking for a left-back who can replace Achraf Hakimi this summer, Italian newspaper Tuttosport features a list of targets the Nerazzurri have been working on.

One of the names in the story is Davide Zappacosta, who’s spent the season loaned at Serie A side Genoa and is now returning to Chelsea.

Tuttosport writes it seems ‘obvious’ that the player won’t stay at Stamford Bridge for longer, not only because he’s not in the Blues’ plans, but also because his contract expires next year.

With Antonio Conte now gone from Inter Milan, it’s said it will be easier for the club to negotiate with Chelsea, and there’s a chance they could sign Zappacosta on a permanent deal for only €5m, unless he signs a new deal with the London side.

The 28-year-old is seen as an experienced option for Inter Milan, who also have the likes of Real Betis’ Emerson Royal and AS Roma’s Alessandro Florenzi as their targets.

Signed from Torino on a €25m deal in 2017, Zappacosta only really spent two seasons at Stamford Bridge. He’s now had two consecutive loans, at Roma and Genoa, and apparently could move back to Italy for good this time.
