Chelsea star N’Golo Kanté ‘snubbed’ a chance to move to Paris Saint Germain in January, according to claims from the French media.

Outlet Le Parisien writes that in the final days of the transfer window, the Ligue 1 side ‘returned to the charge’ and tried to convince the midfielder about moving to the club.

PSG were reportedly encouraged by Kanté’s contract situation with Chelsea, since his current deal expires in 2023.

The player, however, ‘did not respond’ to the proposal from the French side. The story claims he’s ‘happy in England’ and ‘does not want to go to a city where he would be in too much demand’.

Le Parisien recalls that PSG’s interest in Kanté isn’t something new, as the club had been trying to sign him since he won the Premier League with Leicester City in 2016.

It’s said that his contract extension with Chelsea is now ‘in consideration’, even though that can’t be done immediately due to the sanctions aimed at Roman Abramovich and the Stamford Bridge side.
