Chelsea’s Mateo Kovačić has ‘offered himself’ to AC Milan, according to Pianeta Milan.
The Rossoneri progressed to the Champions League quarter-final after beating Tottenham Hotspur in the round of 16. The latter were unable to overcome a 1-0 deficit in the return leg at home.
Milan’s tie in the English capital saw their chiefs, Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara, have a ‘very interesting’ market meeting with the Chelsea player and his entourage at a hotel in London.
Maldini and Massara listened to the 28-year-old and heard his desire to arrive at the San Siro. It’s not excluded for Milan to sign him, provided the technical and economic conditions exist.
The former Real Madrid man’s deal expires in 2024 and he currently earns €3.2m net per year. If Milan were to be interested in signing Kovačić, they wouldn’t have to spend big in the summer.
