The season before last, not many weeks went by without Chelsea having a player in Gazzetta dello Sport’s European Team of the Week. Charging toward the Premier League title under Jose Mourinho, Chelsea often had several impressive performers on the pitch, and one or two would find their way in.

Each week Gazzetta pick a selection of players from around Europe, ignoring their own Serie A, and Hazard has found his way in there, one of three selections from the Premier League.

Hazard’s Belgium teammatesRomelu Lukaku also makes the list, as does Hull City’s debut hero Alfred N’Diaye.
