Hakim Ziyech’s move to Paris Saint Germain has not been concluded as Chelsea have tried to inset a ‘compulsory purchase option’ at the last minute.
That’s according to journalist Edu Aguirre, who says PSG are refusing for that to be included, so a deal is yet to be finalised.
Ziyech has been linked with a move away from Chelsea throughout this window, with the raft of new additions at Stamford Bridge meaning he has been pushed even further down the pecking order.
He had looked like he could move to another club in England, but PSG made a late bid for him yesterday as they look to add a player to their forward line after selling Pablo Sarabia to Wolverhampton Wanderers.
A loan deal appeared to be close to being finalised, particularly after Ziyech completed a medical in Paris and PSG confirmed earlier today that they were working on it.
That potential deal has not progressed in the hours since, though, and Aguirre reports that it is because Chelsea have tried to include a ‘compulsory purchase option’ into the deal.
That is somewhat backed up by L’Equipe, who say that Chelsea have become ‘greedy’ in the negotiations between the two sides.
They are currently negotiating ‘the contours of the contract’ around a loan deal but the Blues have tried to get more money out of their French counterparts.
That is despite Ziyech ‘clearly pushing’ for the move to PSG, something he has made known directly to those in charge at Stamford Bridge. In fact, he has even been ‘intervening directly’ in the exchanges between the two clubs.
Journalist Marc Mechenoua also adds that Chelsea have received other offers for the Moroccan and that is why they have become ‘greedy’.
He confirms that Ziyech wants to join PSG and ‘literally negotiates’ with Chelsea to let him go, something that appears to not be working so far.
