Keylor Navas is in the process of negotiating his transfer to Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid have identified AC Milan’s Pepe Reina as a potential replacement for the Costa Rican, claims AS.
Los Blancos’ idea is to bring in a veteran goalkeeper to be a backup for Thibaut Courtois, Reina fits the profile and is also open to the idea of joining Real Madrid.
Zinedine Zidane’s side are also looking at other targets and one of the ‘options’ is Chelsea’s Willy Caballero.
The 37-year-old arrived at Stamford Bridge on a free transfer in July 2017 and was behind Courtois in his first season with the Blues.
Kepa Arrizabalaga replaced Courtois last summer and Caballero was forced to continue on the bench last term. The Argentine has a year left on his Chelsea contract, but AS’ report doesn’t make clear whether the Blues will allow him to join Real Madrid.
With Jamal Blackman recovering from a long-term injury, Kepa and Caballero are the only two recognised goalkeepers at Chelsea.
Therefore, it would make no sense for the Europa League winners to let Caballero leave Chelsea.
