Currently having his seventh loan spell, Chelsea winger Lucas Piazon is enjoying his time at Portuguese side Rio Ave.

Following a move last summer, the 26-year-old has signed a two-year deal with the Liga NOS side, where he claims to be fully adapted.

Piazon has spoken to Rio Ave fans this week, responding to several questions about his career. One of them was about how happy he is at the club.

“The atmosphere at Rio Ave is very good, with very good energy. My adaptation to manager Carlos Carvalhal’s way of playing was fine. I like the team’s style of play and I had no problems,” said Piazon (via O Jogo).

“I had the expectation of finding an organised club and that is exactly what happened. I have another year of contract with Rio Ave and I want to fulfil it.”

Asked about why he has so little time played for Chelsea, despite belonging to the club since 2012, Piazon claims there were not enough chances for him.

“At Chelsea I lacked opportunities. Before being loaned for the first time, I stayed there for six months, played three games, two as a starter and one from the bench. I have two assists on my resume and then I never played again.”

Regarding websites such as Transfermarkt putting a price-tag of €750k on him, the Brazilian says that’s a good chance for clubs who want him.

“I didn’t play for a year, the price fell and I got cheap [laughs]. Anyone who can take me for that price would be doing a good deal.”

Chelsea signed Piazon on a €7.5m deal from São Paulo in 2012. Since then, he’s had loan spells at Malaga, Vitesse, Eintracht Frankfurt, Reading, Fulham and now Rio Ave. His current deal with the Blues runs until 2022.
