Emerson Palmieri has made only six appearances for Chelsea in 2020, and it includes only one start in the Premier League, which came in the Blues’ 1-0 defeat to Newcastle United in January.

According to Calciomercato.it, the former AS Roma man has expressed his desire to return to Serie A and Chelsea have opened the door for his sale.

It’s claimed Frank Lampard’s side are asking around €25m for the left-back, but a deal could be concluded for €20m plus bonuses.

Inter are interested in the Brazil-born Italy international, and the website explains the Nerazzurri already have an agreement with the player, for a five-year deal worth €2.2m net per season.

Emerson’s signing for the Italian club will depend on Antonio Conte’s future.

Inter chairman Steven Zhang has arrived in Milan, and taking a decision on Conte’s continuity is one of his priorities.

Inter have made it to the Europa League semi-finals, and whether or not Conte will be at the club next season will be decided after the team returns from Germany. The coach’s situation has ‘slowed down’ the deal for Emerson.

Calciomercato.it also explain Napoli have showed interest in the Chelsea player through intermediaries.

Emerson has asked the Naples club for a net salary of €3m per season since they are not in the Champions League. As per the report, the fullback’s demand is ‘within reach’ of Napoli.

Emerson wants to leave and with Chelsea willing to sell, it remains to be seen where he will end up this summer.
