Crystal Palace may be the club building most pressure to sign Matheus França from Flamengo, but Chelsea are not yet forgotten in this race.
On Monday, club director Bruno Spindel admitted having an offer from the Eagles in hand, claiming they’ll analyse it.
As Globo Esporte covers the news, they say Palace aren’t the only club in this battle, saying that Chelsea placed an official bid as well.
The report doesn’t say how much the Blues put on the table. What they do write is that Flamengo want €25m from the sale, and both English clubs are expected to reach that amount.
Chelsea seem to have one disadvantage in this race. That’s the intention to loan Matheus França directly to Strasbourg, just like they’re about to do with Angelo, who has just signed in a €15m deal from Santos.
With Crystal Palace willing to use the player straight away, that may be something that will attract him to Selhurst Park. So the Blues better gather convincing arguments during the negotiations.
