Presnel Kimpembe has elected to stay at Paris Saint Germain rather than move to Chelsea this summer.
That’s according to Le 10 Sport, who say the defender wants to ‘continue his adventure’ in Paris rather than switch to Stamford Bridge.
Kimpembe had been one of several players who could leave the French giants this summer as part of their mini-rebuild under Luis Campos.
However, Campos has made it clear to the defender that he would like to see him stay and that’s the decision Kimpembe has come to.
Chelsea had been ‘pushing to try to convince him’ via Thomas Tuchel, who worked alongside the player during his time in charge of PSG.
Le 10 say that the Blues have called Kimpembe directly to ‘discuss his situation and his desires’ and are the only club to have done so.
But apart from these conversations on the phone, Chelsea did not put anything else on the table. There was no formal bid made to PSG.
Kimpembe will therefore continue in Paris, hoping to give his time at the club a boost under Christophe Galtier so he can be a key part in the France team for Qatar this winter.
