Chelsea ‘offered more money’ for Palmeiras youngster Endrick but could not convince him to choose them above Real Madrid.

That’s according to AS and journalist Tomás Roncero, who covers the youngsters move to the Bernabeu today.

Madrid announced they had secured the signature of the highly rated 16-year-old this week, with him set to move to Spain in July 2024.

The deal is a major coup for the La Liga champions, who have fought off competition from around Europe for Endrick’s signature.

Chelsea were one of those who were linked with a move for him and believed to be fighting in the race and Roncero confirms as much, stating that both they and PSG ‘offered more money’ to the player.

Endrick instead chose to go to Madrid and link up with the other Brazilians there, with Roncero stating that Madrid should be congratulated for the ‘power of their brand’ and using it to their advantage.

That, and the fact they have the value of ‘being the best club in the history of football’ saw them beating the competition as ‘no money is worth’ anything compared to that.

This is something Chelsea seeming found out in the battle for Endrick, with their bigger offer seemingly falling by the wayside.
