Even though Chelsea and Palmeiras are in advanced talks for the loan of Andrey Santos, there’s a third club stepping into negotiations.
That’s Vasco da Gama, the Brazilian side who sold the midfielder to the Blues are now trying to take him back on a temporary deal.
According to Globo Esporte, Vasco have the priority to sign him from Chelsea. During talks for his loan to Palmeiras, the London side notified the Rio de Janeiro club about the situation. It’s said club director Paulo Bracks is the one speaking to the Blues about the possibility of a return.
Andrey’s staff reportedly insist that Chelsea’s preference is to negotiate the player’s move to Palmeiras, who have a strong team and are playing in the Copa Libertadores this year.
However, Vasco are hopeful of having him back and will insist on getting that done. It’s possible that the midfielder is called back by Chelsea in the summer if he’s granted his work permit, but that’s not a problem for the club, who’d like him there ‘even if it’s for only one game’.
Globo Esporte claim a decision should be made before the end of the week.
