Chelsea ‘have not forgotten’ about Atlético Madrid striker Samu Omorodion after seeing a €40m bid rejected for him.
That’s according to Marca, who say Chelsea ‘will knock on the door’ again this summer, even if Atlético have shown no desire to sell.
The newspaper explains that the Blues will need ‘a good amount of money’ if they are to change Atlético’s mind on Omorodion in the coming weeks.
They are currently insistent that they won’t be selling the striker and want to keep him this summer, even if they would welcome a major sale like the one Chelsea have already offered them.
They would only accept a larger amount for the striker, who they believe could rise in value in the coming weeks anyway as he’s set to play at the Olympic Games.
If he manages to do that, not only Chelsea ‘will knock on the door’ for the striker as he has other admirers after impressing on loan at Alavés last season.
The belief is that his environment are willing to listen carefully to all proposals that will arrive and so the window remains open for the likes of Chelsea on that front.
They have not forgotten about the striker and will be back for him, although the question is whether they can offer enough to convince Atlético into a sale.
