First Claudio Marchisio, and now Sami Khedira. Despite having a good midfield, Juventus are starting to worry about their injury problems, and the Old Lady could start the season with several unfit.
It means the club should go for a defensive midfielder in the summer, and the most obvious option is a player who has already been linked to the club in the past few months: N’Golo Kante.
Although TuttoSport has an article on Monday about the injuries and the midfield situation, the situation hasn’t changed much. Juventus don’t want to meet the player’s €25m release clause, and think they could convince Leicester to sell the 25-year-old for around €20m.
The newspaper put Real Madrid and Chelsea in the battle, and say it’s up to the player to decide his next destination.
As we’ve said before, with so many big clubs fighting for Kante, it’s unbelievable that Juve think they could get a discount on the player’s release clause, which isn’t expensive at all.
If Juventus have Kante interest then they quickly need to encounter reality and accept that, if the clause does exist, there’ll be no discount, and if it doesn’t then the price will be much higher.
Chelsea and Real Madrid would have no problem paying the fee, once they decide whether they really want the player or not.
