There’s a claim in the Italian media that Chelsea are preparing an offer for Hellas Verona midfielder Reda Belahyane.

The Morocco international has been linked with a move to the Premier League side in recent weeks after initial reports Chelsea saw the player as a possible replacement for Cesare Casadei.

Gianluca Di Marzio has reported on the latest developments regarding Chelsea’s pursuit for Belahyane and he says the Blues are preparing a €15m bid for the 20-year-old.

The Italian journalist states the London club are still pushing for a transfer for the midfielder and they got a further lowdown on the player when they scouted him during Hella Verona’s game against Venezia last night.

There were reports back in October that Chelsea were already scouting the Moroccan.

Only last week, we covered reports Chelsea were working hard to get a deal done for Belahyane, but faced competition from Serie A sides Torino and Lazio.

However, these claims were laughed off in the Verona media after they reported Lazio were favourites to sign the young midfielder. Chelsea interest was seen as an effort from agents to hype the player.

Belahyane has made 21 Serie A appearances for Hellas Verona this season. He’s contracted to Hella Verona until June 2028, and Chelsea are said to be ‘moving forward in negotiations’ for his signing.

Whether this will again be dismissed as agents at work or is the real thing remains to be seen.
