For the past few weeks, the general consensus in Italy has been that Kwadwo Asamoah will leave Juventus at the end of the season and will be joining Inter.
Many articles have been written about this, lauding the Serie A side’s moves on the market, since he should be joining Stefan De Vrij as another free signing for Luciano Spalletti’s side, but Tuttosport aren’t jumping out of their seats just yet.
The reason for that, according to their edition on Friday, is the fact Chelsea could arrive late on the scene and trump Inter to the 29-year-old.
While they remain confident that he will end up at Inter, they do make it clear an offer from Antonio Conte’s side ‘must not be excluded in the coming days’, which would make the Ghana international think twice because Roman Abramovich has ‘convincing arguments’.
By that, we’re guessing they mean he has deeper pockets than Inter.
Nevertheless, Tuttosport label that possibility as ‘less probable’ because of the ‘quasi-certainty’ that is Asamoah’s move to Milan.
They’re just trying to make Inter fans sweat a bit, aren’t they?
